How to Remove the OVP on a 190E Mercedes
Its simple to remove the OVP on a 190E Mercedes. The OVP, which stands for over-voltage protection, is manufactured to protect the Mercedes electrical system. The OVP is of vital importance to any owners of Mercedes because it shields against a voltage surge and protects the anti-lock braking system. You can identify the OVP by looking for its plastic cover, which sits atop the relay.
Instructions
- 1
Move the vehicle onto a flat work surface. Place the car in park. Shut the engine off and apply the parking brake. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2Find the OVP relay. Its box casing is made of black plastic and is next to the car battery.
3Take off the OVPs cover. Youll see a 10-amp fuse that leads to the relay. Remove the OVP by taking out the fuse.
